How can you trust the word of god...?

when the word has been passed down by man who by your own definitions is corrupt and will lie to make themselves prosper? Wouldnt it be logical to think that even if there was a god that if he spoke and someone listened that that person could twist gods word or change it over time to help himself prosper? You say that man is corrupt and wrong but you trust the words of men thousands of years ago?How can you trust the word of god...?
What people don't seem to take into consideration is the fact that the Bible is NOT the word of God. God didn't write the Bible. Human men wrote it, even if they were "inspired by God". Humans make mistakes, cheat, lie, exaggerate, etc. and the Bible is not an exception to that. Just because there are stories about God doesn't make it God's word. It makes it man's retelling and interpretation of God's word. That doesn't make it wrong, and if you believe in God then the Bible is an important part of your faith, but it doesn't make it the be all and end all of what's right or wrong in this world either. People need to realize that.

I don't think that was an actual answer but oh well :P

Edit: I have also just realized that you never mentioned the Bible but I'm too lazy to write a new answer.
You can't.How can you trust the word of god...?
with one sincere/convicted step at a time , also with His Gift of FAITH given to those who WANT Him. period.
I am sorry that you have found cause to be so skeptical about the authenticity of the Bible. I can say that God inspired the writers to write the contents of a book that has survived far greater skepticism and attack than this. "IF" there was a God, don't you think He would have the power and authority to make sure the writers got it right? Those who tried to change the words or meaning were found out and filtered out.How can you trust the word of god...?
Trust me, I trust the Word of God, way more than Ill ever trust your word, or my own word, or a humans word.

Oh ye of little faith! Open your mind. Don't be so closeminded.
That's what I think too- i mean , the Bible was written by men, not God, as Christians like to think, and obviously is just what those men wanted to write at the time. It's all a bunch of fairy tales- that's my opinion anyway.
Yes, because it was written by men far more creditable than those who wrote evolution and such hogwash.

Buy trusting God.......

God loves you.....God bless
Yes, man does tend to twist things to better himself and his circumstances, I agree with you on that.

However, the Bible writers themselves claimed to be inspired by God's holy spirit, and if you believe that the Bible is the word of God and that He exists, then it would be reasonable to conclude that He Himself would protect the passing down and purity of that word, wouldn't it?

Interestingly, from careful examination of the earliest dated manuscripts of the Scriptures, scientists have found that there are little to no differences between the most ancient of texts, and the most recent of translations. I find this to be both comforting, and faith strengthening in the power of my God to preserve whatever He wishes.
The Old Testament is the same as it was at the time of Jesus and manuscript copy evidence talks loudly of the true inspired word of God

God has His ways of protecting His Word. Jesus promised the New Testament
