I just started coaching a high school freshman who has had tennis lessons before and has the correct motion down for the serve but is now interested in learning the twist serve. Ive tried explaining that the racket must go on a "7 to 2 (or) 6 to 12 o'clock " motion to achieve the necessary spin. Any suggestions on how to word that differently?
(i have also shown him the motion many times)(TENNIS) Explination of the Twist Service Motion?
Wow, I can't believe you wrote that entire paragraph without referring to the Freshman is a Him or Her. ;p
Anyways.. You should say that the toss should be behind your head and a little into the court. And that they should bend their knees and get a jump on the ball. And then you can say that it's easier when the toss is behind you, to hit from a 7 to 2 o' clock motion.(TENNIS) Explination of the Twist Service Motion?
why not just show him with your raquet the motion? I think showing someone the motion is much more easier than trying to tell him/her 7 to 2 o clock or 6 to 12, so if he doesn't get it, he must be dumb.(TENNIS) Explination of the Twist Service Motion?
Okay... Um. I've never heard of the "twist serve" haha. But it sounds pretty funky.
I know the kick, the slice, and a flat serve... So If I knew which one it was... I could help.
