Why would some whom follow Jesus Christ twist words to lead others astray? Is that a form of anti-Christ?

QUOTE: If you serve the letter, you are not serving the spirit. If you are serving the spirit, you are not serving the letter. Why would some whom follow Jesus Christ twist words to lead others astray? Is that a form of anti-Christ?
%26gt;If you are serving the spirit, you are not serving the letter.

Are you agreeing with this quote, or are you trying to refute this quote?

The remainder of my comments refute this quote.

Take the commandment concerning murder, for example:

LETTER: Do not murder any person.

SPIRIT: Do not even hate anyone nor be angry with him without cause.

So, the letter deals only with outward actions, while the spirit deals with the inward condition of the heart.

For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Prov 23:7), and out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34; Luke 6:45); your actions will reveal your heart's condition.

But, let's assume that what this quote suggests is true, that if you keep the letter of the law then you break the spirit of the law, and conversely, if you keep the spirit of the law then you break the letter of the law.

So, to keep the Spirit of the law would mean that you do not hate the person ... your heart is filled only with love for the person. But according to this quote, in keeping the Spirit of the law, you are breaking the Letter of the law. The letter of this law is physically murdering the person; and if you break the letter, then you have literally carried out the murder of this person.

Since you broke the letter and actually murdered the person, how can you say that you still kept the spirit of the law?!!!

How can you keep the Spirit of the law and have only love for the person and still physically murder the person? I would suggest to you that you cannot!

If you keep the spirit of the law, you will also be keeping the letter of the law. You cannot actually physically commit the crime (i.e. breaking the letter of the law) and still claim to be keeping the spirit of the law.
I agree, Hogie and Chris/David both twist God's Word quite freely. For example, Hogie claims Acts 15 frees Gentiles from keeping God's Law. Yet, Acts 15:19-21 explicitly binds the Gentiles to God's Law and to learning more from the Book of the Law in church every Seventh-day [Saturday] Sabbath!

Hogie also talks out of both sides of his mouth with a forked tongue. On the one hand, he erroneously says Gentiles were not party to the Covenant and, thus, aren't bound by it. On the other hand, he erroneously says Gentiles were freed from God's Law in Acts 15. What twisted, demonic malice!

Ego is what causes Christians to push others away from Christ. At some point, it becomes more about them than the people they are supposed to be leading to Christ. That's when others are pushed away from Christ.

We see this all the time when Christians insult and make denigrating remarks about atheists or anyone else who chooses not to follow their religion.

Let them answer to their imaginary friend as to why they would push others away from Christ, when Christ is supposed to be their only hope for salvation.

Whether what they believe is true or not, their behavior is disgusting and off-putting.

How they are treated by atheists is a poor excuse for their behavior, too. They are supposed to live their lives as an example of Christian ideals. They are supposed to be a living testimony of the effects their belief in Christ has had on them. They are supposed to be Christ-like.Why would some whom follow Jesus Christ twist words to lead others astray? Is that a form of anti-Christ?
Well, different groups hold different beliefs. Some religions interpret the word literally, others think it is meant as a teaching guide to be used in the context of today's society. So while you may think of them as twisting the words and leading others astray maybe this is how their specific religion teaches the word. They feel what they believe is true therefore feel they are not leading anyone astray but leading them in the proper manner.
it is indeed anti christ behavior and it is definetly Blasheme against God, for which they will surely pay, it is our "individual" duty to obey/please God by Seeking the Truth (lest ye be decieved) it is also our duty to bring it to one's attention if they are going astray, as we can only do "that", it is out of our hands sadly enough should the peoples you attempt to correct "ignore/disregard" and question Nothing, the peeps here take great offense and act unChrist like when you attempt to do so here on R%26amp;S, they turn it around on "you", you are now a bigot/basher/anti, found this out being "here" :-( Peace/Love %26amp; God Bless
Because Christ has become a Stumbling Block for them, just as it was quoted in Scripture it would happen.

1 Peter 2:8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, [even to them] which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
A Christian is one who follows and imitates Jesus Christ. If one twists words, it is either because one is ignorant, afraid, a control freak, or a "wolf in sheep's clothing." Christ is life-therefore those who do those things do not know Him.
You mean like the "Messianic Jews" in other words Evangelical Christians. Yes, I believe this is the work of Satan.
To serve their own interests.

The call themselves "Christians in progress" as a way of excusing their unChristian ways.
it doesnt come from the spirit...some people are desperate for people to come to christ and they stone heart people by doing that..christ isint working in u or them if ur doing that...just turns ur fruit to dirt....
its either a form of ignorance or arrogance, i would need to know more for a better answer
Twist words? Some are downright liars.
some do not realize they are twisting the words

some do it on purpose for many reasons
if they DID follow Christ, they wouldn't have have twisted the words.
some WHO follow jesus
