Can one of my own explain the logic into using the N word to each other?

I'm really tired of hearing my own race complains about any one who is not of our race using the N word. And please don't tell me that we uses it is a slang. It is not okay to degrade ourselves and expect others to respect us. Dr. Martin Luther King would be disappointed. Infact this behaviour among ourselves shows what little respect we as black people have for Dr. Martin Luther King and how we took what he did for us for granted. You all know who I'm talking to, I'm talking to the ones that uses the N word among themselves. Don't get this twisted I know all of us don't use this word but some of us do. It has to be stop! Can one of my own explain the logic into using the N word to each other?
Amen! You don't know how many arguements I have with my sister over this word or any derogatory word. When will people learn that it's never ok to use that word?
Well, you can look at it like this.

The N word when used as you are speaking of, isnt truly the n word.

If I called a female dog a b*tch, It wouldnt be an insult. But If I used it any other way it would.

The N word has broke away from its old meaning. Ignore the letters and physical spelling of the word, and look into th einner whole of it, and how its used. Can one of my own explain the logic into using the N word to each other?
In many respects using the word is to take it back, and used amongst the community softens it harsh history and negative connotations.

I do agree that it is completely inappropriate. The fact of the matter is that it was a world used to isolate and alienate the black community, and still using exclusively in the community furthers the isolation and alienation. It perpetuates a double standard that needs to be abolished in order to truly gain equality.
As long as there a people that have disrespect for others of different color the N word will be around. Sorry that it is that way. I am white and I detest that word. It all boils down to disrespect. Can one of my own explain the logic into using the N word to each other?
I am black. I have never used the N word. Only the stereotypical black ppl u see on tv(like rappers) use the word. But rappers claim that they spell it with an A at the end, instead of the letters e and r. I totally agree with Oprah. It should be stricken from the English language. It is degrading and racist and I wish that those other black people would respect themselves and stop uttering the filthy word! Wikipedia has an article on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/***.... (you know the last three letters, fill them in first, and get rid of the last period after the letter G lol).If I was to ever say the word, I'd probably use it the way Wikipedia did.
I often think you guys bring it on yourselves. You don't bother to be self disciplined, like clean up your own neighborhood trash, you expect others to do it for you ( Detroit is an example)

You take welfare, and abuse the society that provides it. You

wear attire that typecasts you as morons ( beanies and dem sunglasses, and big furry coats and snakeskin boots) Ahh ask ya man what can yuse doods be a thinkin? Your women often look gorgeous, but you look like you dress from a ragbag for a freakshow.

Then there is that boring rap crap that you mumble without any eloquence and expect us white trash to know what you sayin.

Ohh yeh yuse guys aint racially biased yuse perfec its us the white trash that has it all wrong and we'd better not use that nasty "N" word ohh no indeedy! That reserved for do's colored folk.

First and foremost one has to have respect for self in order to respect others. So show that you have the ability to rise above the silly name calling Take reponsibility for your surroundings and prove you are just as worthy as anyone else to belong to the USA

Did Martin King look a geek when he preached equality? No!, did he speak well to his flock YES he did. Would he be proud of what you have become since he left NO he would be ashamed.

Rise above the past, forgive, and take responsibility for yourselves only then will you find your place in a society that has seen you as lazy welfare users that indulge in crime and drug dealing.
That is a good question and all there is to say is hopefully someday some of us that uses the N word would stop.
