Why does the Catholic Church twist the words of the Bible?

For the mere reason changing it to their liking so that it reads the way THEY want it to read. They change the meaning of the bible simply to suit their religion. They have even added to the bible, which is a no-no according to God. It says so in Revelation 22:18,19 - For I testfy unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 - And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the bok of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Biblehelp (above my reply) has said it best! Why does the Catholic Church twist the words of the Bible?
Thanks, Josh. I used to be a Roman Catholic, so I know that religion does not abide by the bible - not by a longshot.

In order to try to establish their traditions. Why does the Catholic Church twist the words of the Bible?
Too many years of inflexibility, even in the face of clear scripture.
But the last time I read it - I never once read taking two jet planed and flying them into buildings killing 3000 people. Why does the Catholic Church twist the words of the Bible?
Because they are apostate, under Satan's control, look at their history of violence, bloodshed, and abuse.
The Church gave us the Bible...not the other way around. Ergo, your 'point' is a non issue.
o ..so very ignorant you are....
I don't know where you get the notion that the Catholic Church twist the words of the Bible. I am personally a Protestant but i believe that they too have a Bible that speaks the truth. It is only how the Bible came to have the books it has now. Pls do a research of the origin of the bible and you will know what i mean.
How is that possible? Since the Catholic churches brought you the bible. They have been studying it for 2000 years in the light of the most research ever done about what the bible has to say. Do you think that your simple read through is more accurate? How many translations have you read in the original languages?

How many documents from the same era of history have you read that corraborated the Bible?
For the same reason that other churches twist the words of the Bible - to prove that they [insert church] are the true church and that their way of thinking is the only right way for everyone. Do not believe them.
If you are reading the King James version, then you must know how twisted and mistranslated it is from the Latin Vulgate. All Protestant Bibles were translated from the Latin Vulgate..........then they removed books..........and chapters.........renamed books............etc,

Seek some knowledge and read the Douray Rheims Bible
*They don't twist it any more than the baptist, methodists, Presbetarians, lutherians, and probably not as much as the Pentecostals. All you have to do is read the bible with the attitude that it says what it means and means what it says and you will see how all of these twist it to make it appears it says what they want it to. *
Because the Bible condems their lifestyle, so they have to change the Bible or change their lifestyle. And most don't want to change their lifestyle.
How do you know the church twist the word? Do you take your bible to church and read word for word so that your not led a stray. If you are then dont go back but your not to judge. ONLY GOD CAN DO THAT
What an unchristian question. Go practice kindness and cease speaking.
ALL Christians twist the words of the Bible. It is just a matter of degree.

Show me a Christian who follows the Bible completely, and I'll show you someone who is criminally insane.
Same reason all religious groups twist the words of the bible. Greed and self preservation.
According to whom? You?

As if you would know!
You accuse the Church of "twisting the words of the Bible" and yet you are unable or unwilling to provide even one example?

Your credibility leaves a lot to be desired.
