I'm a little bit familiar with the concept that god speaks to every person. It seems to work to strengthen and inform the conscience of some people but tear down the thin veneer of civilization in others.
So what's the difference?
How does a person know that a thought is a message from god and not just a thought or a wish? There must be some criteria.
I read Twisted Faith and it scared me. But surely this was a strange sort of situation.Apostolics how do you test a Word from God?
God speaks to every one who listens thru his Word the Bible [2Tim 3.16,17]Apostolics how do you test a Word from God?
Never read that book.
I know something is from God because I check it with the Word, I check it with the Holy Spirit within me, and I pray about it if I'm not sure.
Last summer God told me to go to Kansas and go on a prayer walk. I bought a plane ticket and it was an expensive one. But I was trying to be obedient. The night before I left I looked through the mail and there was a refund check from one of the utility companies for the amount of my plane ticket. So...that made it pretty plain for me! :-)Apostolics how do you test a Word from God?
The concept of testing a word from God came from the Bible written by those who have a way to hear from God. They have years of history and methods on successfully hearing correctly. They know that it is correct because what they hear is prophetic, that eventually happens as it was told them.
Such tried and true ways is very different from some person who has no proper connection with God nor uses the proper methods to hear from God.
God does not speak to every person.
God will only speak exactly and of no variation from the Bible. Every other religious book has deviations of one degree or another.
